The future rests not in the hands of our generation, but rather in the future of our young.
For this reason, the importance of the direction of our Youth Committee is critical. Much attention is directed toward the function of the Youth Committee and the Youth Committee are always eager to welcome new members.
The Youth Committee meets on a monthly basis, and invites all members to attend. Youth meetings are typically held on the first Tuesday of the month and begin promptly at 7:30 PM in the Church hall.
To join the Youth Committee, or find out more information, the Youth President, Georgina Fajloun, can be contacted on 0410 274 923.
Living the Orthodox Faith in Christ through Worship, Education, Service, Witness and Fellowship
We believe that the goal of Orthodox Christian Youth Ministry is the integration of each young person fully into the total life of the Church. We believe that Orthodox Christians must commit themselves to living the Orthodox Faith daily. Worship, Education, Service Witness and Fellowship are the natural expressions of that commitment. We define them as follows:
Worship: We strive to have an active and full liturgical and sacramental life in the Church enabling us to experience God and to prepare us to be citizens of His Kingdom;
Education: We seek to learn about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and about the faith and life of the holy Orthodox Church to enable us to grow in our relationship with Christ;
Service: As good and faithful servants we are called to serve in the Church and follow our Lord’s commandment to feed the hungry, visit the sick, and welcome the stranger;
Witness: Being true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ we are instructed to go forth and preach His Gospel to others. We preach through living the Gospel of Christ;
Fellowship: Building bonds of Christian friendship and love which promotes the presence of God in all that we do.
